Thankful List for August -talking briefly with Brenda Sanders about her visit with Aida -friends and family who checked in with us on the weekend we passed the year mark of Aida's referral... so good for our hearts! -"The Lord God is my strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army..." Hab.3:19 -happy news for the Golden Family and their little Miles!! -forward movement for the Gruben family and their little Parker!! -"Gotcha day" for the Wood's and their little Ryan and little Reid!! -meeting new friends- Tanner and Kendra House... excited to watch and pray for their journey to bring home their little Amos -making it through some days and events I'd been dreading... His grace and peace and strength continue to be sufficient -"Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge." Psalm 62:8 And a few random things that have nothing to do with adoption -seeing Melissa Jacobson on her way to her new adventure (thankful for her obedient faith) -Jourdan taking Tuck bowling -Noah's new faith trip to Glorieta, New Mexico: -lots of sweet time with our dear friends the Sharps -cool mountain air -catching up with people we hadn't seen in a while- Mike Nuss, Chad McClurg, state staff -His artistry portrayed in the New Mexico sky... the clouds, the blue, the stars!!! (it captivated me when i worked there 11 years ago and captivated me again this month) -kids "hiking" -our short Santa Fe trip: jogging through the rain, 4 kids and 4 adults stuffed in a suburban eating fajitas, the journey for a pizza -paddle boating as a family, then watching from afar Ben canoing with the kids -the Cadillac Ranch experience... at least we can say we saw it -safe travels -seeing with new eyes the beauty of Texas when we drove back -a fun new color for our mailbox -Cinderella with friends -“Resolution One: I will live for God. Resolution Two: If no one else does, I still will.” -Jonathan Edwards -Josh, starting as campus missionary- he will be an amazing asset to the ministry -students are back!!! -these guys: -mine and Meegan's last lunch with the boys for a while -the dining room project -painting class with Kelli and Charisse -women from our Sunday School class filling our home -superheros on a break -durable furniture -time with Carissa and Mrs. DeDe and friends at the FLIC -Mrs. Charlotte playing basketball with Tuck -Tuck painting Libby's nails... such a good big brother -sweet time with the Lindsey's -Kara is in Tuck's kindergarden class!!! -a great teacher for Tuck -a last day of summer Chuck e Cheese celebration with the kids -Warnock's help from afar -little girls playing -kids dancing -starting school care package from Mimi and Pops -kids in pj's watching the sunset -drawing stars -1st morning walk -a brave boy -hug good-bye -so many encouraging texts from friends! -special time with Libby -Libby "mama, you're my favorite" -over 300 students at first BSM lunch of the year and because I haven't been feeling very grateful for the 100+ degree weather. I'm reminding myself of blessings about summer:
-watermelon, juicy and cold -the hum and breeze of ceiling fans -not being cold when you get out of the shower -sun staying out for longer days -homemade ice cream -sound of children all day long -smell of food cooking on the grill -sundresses -we have air-airconditioning -lots of time with Ben
